While the service is also applicable for weekend orders and deliveries, it presently does not include deliveries on public holidays. What is Shopee Mart?
It is an in-app portal that offers an assortment of over 11,000 products from groceries to household needs from trusted names such as Nestlé, Munchy’s, Top, Sunlight and Drypers.

Shopee shared that the next-day delivery service is part of its efforts in shortening delivery time for sellers and buyers in Malaysia.

In 2020, Parcel Monitor and iPrice Group found that the Covid-19 lockdown impacted final mile logistics, increasing delivery time by 119 percent for Malaysia . In 2019, Parcel Perform and iPrice Group reported that Malaysia had the longest wait time for their online deliveries in Southeast Asia .

Reacting to this, Shopee widened its logistics network and announced strategic partnerships to cater to the growing reliance on e-commerce and greater expectations for faster deliveries.

Some efforts include the introduction of 10 new Shopee Xpress drop-off points, and a partnership with Parcelhub and MBE which brings the total number of drop-off points to more than 300 nationwide.

This increase in drop-off points especially at locations with high accessibility and seller concentration is expected to trim sellers’ travel time and subsequently reduce the duration from when buyers place their orders to receiving it at their doorstep.

Besides that, Shopee currently has warehouses, hubs and sorting centres in more than 50 strategic locations nationwide including areas such as Senawang, Bagan Serai, Batu Pahat, Simpang Ampat, and Bayan Lepas to increase delivery efficiency even to smaller towns.

Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director of Shopee said the e-commerce platform has been working tirelessly alongside various logistics partners and scaling its logistics network by using big data and better projections to improve Malaysia’s delivery lead time since its inception in 2015.

He also said deliveries that used to take up to 10 days, and longer in East Malaysia, today have been reduced to one to four days.

Malaysians can give the next-day delivery service a try during the 3.3 Supermarket Sale which will also reward users with free shipping with a RM10 minimum spend, daily 50% off deals as well as bargains from as low as 33 sen.

Paying with ShopeePay is also recommended as checkouts are faster, especially when trying to score limited deals.

The e-commerce platform’s live streaming channel, Shopee Live is also working with TV3 to put together the best of TV shopping with the 3.3 Supermarket Show. The show which will keep Malaysians entertained and bargain hunters at the edge of their seats will be aired on 3 March at 9PM.
